Liquidity and swaps
Once a pool is live, you can add liquidity, swap, and take your liquidity back out. Ask SuperHooks in chat, or use the buttons on the pool card. Either way, you sign every transaction with your own wallet.
Ask for it
Add 0.5 ETH of liquidity to my pool.
Add 1 ETH of liquidity in a 20% range.
Swap 0.1 ETH for my token. What would I get?
Show my pool. I want to take my liquidity out.
SuperHooks works out the amounts or the quote and shows the pool card with the form already filled in. Check it, then press the button to sign. SuperHooks never sends the transaction itself.
If you give an amount but no range, it uses the full range and tells you. It will not tell you whether a trade is a good idea.
A new pool is empty. Nobody can swap in it until someone adds liquidity.
Add liquidity from the card
- On the pool card, press Add liquidity.
- Pick a price range.
- Type the amount of one token. The app works out how much of the other token goes in with it.
- Press Add liquidity and confirm in your wallet.
Price ranges
| Range | What it means |
|---|---|
| Full range | Your liquidity is used at every price. |
| ±50%, ±20%, ±5% | Your liquidity is used only while the price stays within about that far of today's price. |
A narrower range earns more fees for the same tokens while the price stays inside it. When the price leaves the range, the position stops earning and holds only one of the two tokens until the price comes back.
The confirmations
The first time you add a token, your wallet asks up to three times:
- Approve the token for Permit2, Uniswap's allowance contract. This happens once per token.
- Allow Uniswap's PositionManager to use the exact amount, for 30 minutes.
- Add the liquidity.
ETH needs neither approval.
The app allows up to 1% more of each token than shown, in case the price moves before your transaction lands. Anything not needed stays in your wallet.
Your liquidity
The card lists each position you added from the app: what it holds right now, and whether it is Earning fees or Out of range.
Press Remove to close a position. All of its tokens and the fees it earned return to your wallet. A position is closed in full; you cannot withdraw part of one.
Positions you created somewhere else are not listed.
Swap from the card
- Press Swap on the pool card.
- Type the amount to sell. Use the round arrow button to swap the other way.
- Check the quote, pick a maximum slippage, and press Swap.
The quote is read from the chain and already includes the pool's fee and anything the pool's hook takes. If the swap would return less than the "at least" amount shown, nothing is swapped.
What can go wrong
- The hook can refuse. A hook may block swaps or liquidity changes, for example outside a trading window or above a buy cap. The app simulates every transaction first and tells you if it would fail. Nothing is sent in that case.
- The hook is unaudited. It runs on every swap and liquidity change. Read its rules and code first. See Security.
- Prices move. The value of a liquidity position changes with the price, and you can get back a different mix of tokens than you put in.
